Statement of Faith
of Redeemer House

We believe the bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:15-17)
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19, Ephesians 4:4-6)
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension and glory. (John 1:1-4, Matthew 1:23, Philippians 2:5-11, Hebrews 1:1-4 & 4:15, Acts 1:11 & 2:22-24, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
We believe that, for the salvation of lost and sinful man, repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ results in regeneration by the Holy Spirit and that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation. (Titus 3:4-7, Luke 24:46-47, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 14:6, Acts 4:12)
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit whose indwelling enables the Christian to live a godly life. (Galatians 5:16-18, Romans 8:9)
We believe in the resurrection of both the unsaved and the lost: the saved unto the resurrection of eternal life, and the lost unto the resurrection of damnation and eternal punishment. (Revelation 20:11-15, 1 Corinthians 15:51-57)
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and that all true believers are members of His body, the Church. (Ephesians 1:22-23, 1 Corinthians 12:12, 27)
We believe that the ministry of evangelism is the responsibility of both the church and each Christian. (Romans 10:9-15, Acts 1:8, Matthew 28:18-20, 1 Peter 3:15)
Additional Basis for our Ministry
The mandate for ministering to the poor is found throughout scripture. We are deeply convicted by the verses below and feel that God would have us share them with you. Please meditate on them and ask God to show you how you should respond.
“He will rescue the poor when they cry to Him; He will help the oppressed, who have no one to defend them. He feels pity for the weak and the needy, and He will rescue them.” Psalm 72:12-14
“For God loves a person who gives cheerfully. And God will generously provide all you need.” Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. As the Scriptures say, ‘They share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever.” 2 Cor. 9:87-8
“Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt them.” James 1:27
“What good is it, dear brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith, but don’t show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone? Suppose you see a brother and sister who has no food or clothing, and you say, “Good-bye and have a good day, stay warm and eat well” – but then you don’t give that person any food or clothing. what good does that do?” James 2:14-16
“No this is the kind of fasting I want:…share your food with the hungry and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help.” Isaiah 58:6-7
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink., I was a stranger and you invited me in, I was in prison and you came to visit me…I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did it for me. Matthew 25:35, 40
