Today we had the honor of visiting Acacia Church and enjoying a sweet time of worship. We learned about forgiveness and were reminded of how much we have been forgiven for. We enjoyed sitting with our Redeemer House Kids; holding hands during the service, littles taking naps on our laps, and the oldest introducing us to all of their friends.
Today was a scheduled “rest” day but we agreed we could “rest” while watching our American boys play a soccer match with the Jinja Sports Academy. Cooper, Tyler, and Charlie joined a team and we watched them play; Coop and Ty both scored a goal. We then had the privilege of watching Justin play with our Uganda boys; Fred, Kaka and Micheal Cross. We were typical soccer moms cheering them all on and rejoicing as we took pictures of them wearing their new uniforms donated from COHS soccer. The boys looked very professional, as many were stopping to watch them play through the fence. The most unbelievable thing was watching these boys play aggressive soccer bare foot!!!! Most did not have cleats…we were able to bring about 60 pairs but even at yesterday’s match there were 88 boys there.
After watching the game Uncle G preached the gospel and led the boys in some worship. It was a beautiful way to end our time with Jinja Sports Academy.
We enjoyed dinner out and hit the pillows dreaming of our field trip to the pool tomorrow with Redeemer House.
