Meeting my Redeemer House family today was AMAZING. It was such a beautiful and emotional experience for everyone; some getting to meet their sponsor children for the first time, and others reuniting with theirs. What a joy it was to finally meet Mama Eva, who I sponsor, she is one of the sweetest and most hard working women I have ever met. We all were able to go on a tour of the property; seeing where the kids and house parents sleep, walking around the farm, getting to see where the new preschool classroom will be, meeting the ente, mbuzi, & enkoko [or to us muzungus: cows, goats, & chickens]. Also, I got to see my new bedroom and move my stuff in. Then we sat under the beautiful gazebo and ate a traditional Ugandan lunch with a stunning view of Jinja.

It still seems unreal that I get to live here all year!

The way the kids love us and just want to spend time with us is indescribable. It reminds me of the theme from today’s devotion which is to actively pursue the good of others and to desire for them what God desires for them.

“We love because He first loved us.”
1 John 4:19
“”You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,” Matthew‬ ‭5:43-44

I pray that we would take these truths to heart and through the Holy Spirit have a supernatural power to love each and every person we come in contact with no matter where we are in the world.

Please continue to pray for the team during this next week as we continue to serve and minister to the people of Uganda.
